The best thing about energy efficient building is you most likely already have all the tools necessary for a professional job. It is the techniques of the trade that must change, using unfamiliar products and procedures.
In the builder’s tool kit, you will need:
16-28 oz. hammer (depending on your skill, usually choose the lighter hammer. Choose a waffle head [prevents nail deflection] or flat head [non-marring])
rubber mallet (a plastic hammer is O.K.)
chalk line
wrecking bar
screwdriver
measuring tape (25 ft. [7.5 m])
utility knife (with replacement blades, hook style too)
prybar (cats paw style)
goggles or glasses
gloves
